Walk
to the lower slopes of the garden where steps will take you directly to
sheltered and sandy Castle Cove Beach, allowing clean and safe bathing
for any age.
Glenthorne is ideally situated for those interested in sailing, diving,
windsurfing, fishing and birdwatching, with Castle
Cove Sailing Club on our doorstep and Weymouth
Sailing Centre a short drive away. Also close by are delightful ornamental
gardens and the ruins of Sandsfoot
Castle built by Henry VIII.
Lying directly on the coastal path, easy walks to Weymouth, Portland and
Chesil can begin from Glenthorne, or put on those comfortable boots for
longer panoramic cliff walks to delightful Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door,
Abbotsbury, Moonfleet or Lyme Regis for the energetic!
Glenthorne is the ideal base from which to make your holiday as restful
or active as you want it to be.
